Computer Science deals with the theoretical foundations of information and computation, and of practical techniques for their implementation and application. Computing has become the key enabler of fabulously rapid advances that have occurred, and that will continue for the foreseeable future, across all disciplines of the academy and throughout all segments of society. Computer Science & Engineering is the branch of Engineering Science that studies (with the aid of computers) computable processes and structures. Computer Engineering is a discipline that integrates several fields of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science required developing Computer Systems. Computer Engineers usually have training in Electronics Engineering, Software Design, and Hardware-Software Integration instead of only Software Engineering or Electronic Engineering. Computer Engineers are involved in many hardware and software aspects of computing, from the design of individual microprocessors, personal computers, and supercomputers, to circuit design. This field of Engineering not only focuses on how computer systems themselves work, but also how they integrate into the larger picture. This makes Computer Science & Engineering a very interdisciplinary field. |
