Report on the 2nd International Conference (C2E2-2015)-
Supreme Knowledge Foundation Group of Institutions (SKFGI) hosted the 2nd International conference on “Foundations and Frontiers in Computers, Communications and Electrical Engineering: commemorating 150 years of Maxwell’s Equations” (C2E2-2015) on 9-10 January 2015 sponsored by URSI, IEEE AP-S, IEEE MTT-S, BRNS, DRDO, CSIR-CEERI, DST, State DST, IPR and IEEE (Kolkata). This 2-day conference set a mark and created history in the pages of SKFGI. The 1st day of the conference began at 10:30 am with the prayer song by the college choir. The conference added a new glamour by the presence of three foreign delegates— Professor (Dr.) D V Giri, Adjunct Professor in the University of New Mexico, USA, Professor (Dr.) Tadao Nagatsuma, Department of Systems Innovation, Osaka University, Japan and Professor (Dr.) Tzyh-Guang Ma, National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, Taiwan. Aside these personalities, Professor (Dr.) Rabiranjan Chattopadhyay, Minister–in-charge of Technical Education, Government of West Bengal presided over the function an Professor (Dr.) Tadao Nagatsuma delivered the key note address. The main attraction of the conference was the special dance performance by the differently abled children of Prabartak Sangh, a home for destitute children and shelter for the handicapped, Chandannagar—a vision realized by Mr. B G Mallick, Chairman, Supreme Knowledge Foundation. The conference was attended by a galaxy of scientist, academicians, emeritus professors, delegates and dignitaries from India and abroad. To name a few, Professor N B Chakrabarti IIT Kharagpur, Professor S C Dutta Roy, former professor IIT Delhi, Professor A K Ray, Director IIEST, Shibpur Howrah, Professor P Banerjee, Former scientist NPL, New Delhi, Dr. S N Joshi, Emeritus Scientist, CEERI-Pilani, Dr. L N Joshi Chief Scientist CEERI – Pilani, Professor Bhaskar Gupta, Jadavpur University, Professor Sourangshu Mukhopadhyay Burdwan University, Dr. Rowdra Ghatak NIT, Durgapur and several other academicians from India and abroad. The inaugural function ended with a vote of thanks delivered by Professor T K Sengupta, Chief Technical Director, SKFGI. The 2nd day of the conference began with the plenary session by Dr. S N Joshi and his CEERI Team followed by other invited talks by our dignitaries. The conference attained the pinnacle of success with a huge number of delegates presenting their research papers along with the Students’ Paper contest adjudged by Professor M K Ghosh, Former Professor, IIEST Shibpur. Aside these accomplishments the main highlights of the conference was also the School Students’ quiz competition and oral presentations along with their model exhibitions. More than eighty schools participated in these activities during the two day International conference. The conference concluded with the valedictory talk by Professor Tadao Nagatsuma and the Swami Vivekananda auditorium was bursting at the seams with its packed audience. This conference would not have seen the light of the day, if it was not for the visionary and the living legend of SKFGI—Professor B N Biswas—the stalwart behind all such events held in SKFGI since its inceptions in 2009. May the Institution grow and expand both in size and wisdom today and in the years to come.
